About Us
We discovered that there are as many orphaned children in Africa as there are people in the state of California.
Beyond that, 1,500 children are infected with HIV daily.
If we weren’t going to ignore this crisis, we decided that we wanted to combat it at the source, rather than fighting its symptoms. We kept returning to the idea of prevention. Instead of dealing with the symptom, we realized we need to deal with the root issues for impoverished families. To do this, we decided to hone in on the needs of entire families.
Our goal is to remove the impoverished from a position of dependence on outside resources, like our welfare system. Instead, we come behind them and effectively provide them with the tools to become productive members of their community.
We do this, first, through empowering the local church to share the hope of Jesus Christ. Without the hope they have in Christ we fail to meet their single most important need. Then we resource the local church to provide sponsorships for families too weak to care for themselves and providing food, medication, school tuition for children whose families cannot afford schooling.
Once families have regained their strength, we provide them with micro-loans to begin small businesses in their communities, and the education necessary to utilize their loans in a cost-effective manner.
We provide spiritual help through coming behind local churches and teaching pastors to invest in their communities, and train them as they plant churches to provide local support for their people.
We provide education through building local schools in individual villages, and hiring and training local teachers to provide the most loving, high quality education available in the countries we work in.
Our other sustainable projects include building wells, providing mosquito netting and necessary medication, raising funding for livestock and financially supporting local pastors.
