We have been working in partnership with Pastor Alex and Millie Ojera from Bombo Pentecostal Church in Uganda since July 2005. By using a missions model of promoting relationships and working in a partnership we have seen God do amazing things.

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV) Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

We have seen Bombo Pentecostal Church grow from a congregation of approximately 125 in July 2005 to over 700 with four church plants in Wobulenzi, Luwero, Kakoge, Mbogga, Uganda in less than four years and two more planned this year in Matugga and, Migyera Uganda.

Millie Ojera attended the 2005 HIV/AIDS Conference at Saddleback Church, she went back to Bombo Uganda with a broken, hurting and compassionate heart for her congregation. As she put it so well when she was invited back to the 2007 HIV/AIDS Conference as a guest speaker, "I now looked at the pain and suffering behind the smiles that were praising God." After Millie started looking, praying and communicating with her congregation, she realized that over 50 % of the congregation was infected and 100% are affected by the disease. This was when their ministry Life With Hope (LWH) was born. LWH is a support ministry of BPC to those suffering with the HIV virus, orphans, and widows. They reach out to the people to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Many Muslims have been attracted to this Life With Hope because of the love, compassion and support they get.

Education is the Key to the Future .... It unlocks the grip of poverty, it opens the doors to knowledge, it is a path to share Christ with the community

We understand education is the key to the future; it is an investment in the lives of our children. Graduating from high school and then on to college, a trade school or other specialized occupational training is expected from our children.

How would you feel as a parent if there was not an educational system available for your children?

What if the lack of an education was going to leave them with a life of poverty and begging to survive?

Knowing that the longevity of your life was not favorable due to illness and you would not be there for them to help?

What if you had to choose between feeding your child ONE meal for the day or sending them to school?

Even if there were a school available, the quality of education is so poor that would never qualify to even attend high school let alone a college or university.

What if you had no hope?

This is the plight of most developing countries. Their governments will tell you they have a priority on education, but when you travel there and see for yourselves it does not exist; anywhere. This is what we found when we went to Bombo Uganda. It is a point of anguish for the people who live it; it is a reality for Pastor Alex and Millie; but they have a plan to change that. Pastor Alex and Millie have a vision that ALL children should have an opportunity for a quality education and a chance to excel.

In early 2007, Alex and Millie shared a desire and a deep leading from the Lord to open a preschool. It has been extremely successful and valuable to their community. They started with 7 and now have 120 children in the school. They are bursting at the seams and there is a waiting list to register for the preschool. They have just finished the first building for the Primary School. The primary school started on February 16, 2009 with primary grades 1 and 2. They are using fees for the people who can afford school fees to pay teachers salaries and save for a future building so they can expand to all primary grade levels. This is a project we are working with them to provide quality educational curriculum and funds for building a school where their children can get a quality education.

The primary education system in Uganda is so poor, most children do not have the tools to go beyond a primary education. BPC has a vision is to give all children the opportunity to have a quality primary education. A quote from Mille, "...people bring their kids to [us] because they expect something superior, something different from us; they may not know it, but that difference is Jesus and a rich education". We know that children who grow up with life skills that will make a positive contribution to their families and their communities. There are no other schools in the Luwero District where children are taught with love and respect and centered on Christ; where their needs are being met spiritually, developmentally, emotionally and physically.
